I'm a political gerontologist - someone who is passionate about improving the care and support of older people through strengthening the nexus between research, policy and practice. I was drawn to the AAG because of its multi-disciplinary and cross-sector focus, and its emphasis on community - no single discipline/individual can achieve change on their own. The values of AAG reflect my own - evidence-informed, collaborative, respectful and outcomes-focussed. My professional background is a mix of clinical (nurse), policy and program management (Commonwealth and NSW Governments), and academic (applied health services research). I've been fortunate to have met so many wonderful, committed, caring and intelligent people over my three decades membership of the AAG.
