AAG submission: Aged Care Bill to the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee for Inquiry

The intent of this Bill is to focus on older people and a rights-based framework for aged care, and is necessary based on the set of Recommendations generated by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety and given Australia’s growing – and ageing - population.

Our submission to the Senate Inquiry is that while we welcome the emphasis on older people in this Bill, we still hold concerns about the drafting of the rights, their enforceability, and the delivery of quality care to older people.
