Securing research funding is a key milestone for early career researchers yet grant writing can feel daunting at the start of an academic career.

This webinar, hosted by the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) ACT Division and the NSW Division, focuses on practical strategies for building a grant writing track record.

The webinar is designed for PhD candidates and early career researchers and will feature short talks from researchers who have successfully secured competitive grants in their ECR journey or have extensive experience in assessing grant applications.

Speakers will share lessons learned from their applications, common challenges, and practical advice for getting started. The session will conclude with an interactive panel discussion and Q&A, providing attendees the opportunity to ask questions and gain tailored advice.

Attendees of this webinar will:

  • Understand how to get started with grant applications
  • Learn practical grant writing strategies from funded researchers
  • Gain insights into building a funding track record as an ECR
  • Identify common pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • Ask questions in a supportive, interactive setting.
